Ed Orgeron gives hilarious answer on when he knew Joe Brady would be a good coach

Former LSU head coach Ed Orgeron knew Joe Brady was going to be a standup coach throughout college football and the NFL. Back in 2019, Brady was the passing-game coordinator for the Tigers and helped a loaded team go 15-0 and win the national championship.

Brady was previously a linebackers coach at William and Mary, a GA at Penn State and an offensive assistant with the New Orleans Saints before getting to LSU. In just one season under Orgeron in Baton Rouge, Brady became a superstar.

Safe to say, Orgeron gave himself some credit for identifying talent in, not only players, but coaches as well. Now, Brady enters his second season as the OC for the Buffalo Bills.

โ€œRecognizing talent. I mean, thatโ€™s been part of my strengths as a recruiter,โ€ Orgeron said on Pardon My Take. โ€œWhen Joe came and he spoke to our staff in the summer, I knew this guy was gonna be a great coach. I mean, Ray Charles could see that shit.โ€

Under Bradyโ€™s direction, quarterback Joe Burrow had one of the greatest individual seasons in the history of college football. En route to a Heisman Trophy, Burrow threw for 5,671 yards, 60 touchdowns, six interceptions and a 76.3% completion percentage.ย

Brady became the offensive coordinator for the Carolina Panthers the very next season, coaching there for two seasons. However, he was fired prior to the end of the 2021 season.
