Atlanta Falcons quarterback Michael Penix Jr. and wide receiver Drake Londonsuffered knee injuries in the second half of Sunday’s 30-27 overtime loss to the Carolina Panthers and did not return.
Falcons head coach Raheem Morris did not have an update on neither Penix nor London’s status after the game.
Penix went down when he was hit hard on an incomplete pass to David Sills on third down in the middle of the third quarter. Penix was in clear discomfort following the play, tossing his helmet in frustration as he was attended to by Falcons medial staff.

Penix was able to walk off the field under his own power, however, but was later seen on the bench without his helmet as backup Kirk Cousins took over under center for Atlanta.
London endured a hard hit on the Falcons’ final offensive possession in regulation and was ruled out in overtime. London had seven receptions for 119 yards to lead Atlanta on Sunday.
Penix was an efficient 13-of-16 passing for 175 yards, and Atlanta led 21-16 at the time of his injury.
Cousins struggled in relief, completing just 6 of 14 passes for 48 yards as the Falcons failed to hold off the Panthers to drop to 3-7 on the season.
