FanDuel fronts massive money to help Eagles fans get to season opener vs. Cowboys

How’s this for some uncommon news just before the 2025 NFL football season begins? FanDuel has ponied up a significant five-figure sum of money to help restore express train service for the Philadelphia Eagles ahead of the season opener on Thursday night.

SEPTA, the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority, confirmed to NBC10 that FanDuel provided $80,000 to help restore service. That comes just two days after the Eagles issued a travel advisory warning fans that the typical special sports express trains would not be running on Thursday for the matchup with the Dallas Cowboys due to ongoing service cuts.

On Wednesday, FanDuel announced its plan to provide the resources necessary to reopen the lines. The cost of the project was in part to cover base operations and in part to fund free rides home for Eagles fans.

“SEPTA will run regularly scheduled subway trains, plus Sports Express trips, before and after the game. Pre-game, Sports Express trips will run every 10 minutes to supplement Local service. Post-game, SEPTA will have 10 Express and six Local trains ready to get fans home from NRG Station. Post-game trips will operate over a period of approximately 70 minutes, and SEPTA urges fans to go to NRG station right after the game to ensure they can catch a train home,” a spokesperson wrote. “The FanDuel sponsorship covers free rides home for fans. The free rides from NRG Station begin at halftime and continue through the end of service.”

All in all, a great gesture from FanDuel. One that will undoubtedly see an influx of support from Eagles fans.
