Former NFL quarterback and current FOX Sports analyst Mark Sanchez was hospitalized and arrested following a stabbing in downtown Indianapolis on Saturday morning. “FOX NFL Sunday” host Curt Menefee acknowledged the situation early in Sunday’s show.
“Friday night in Indianapolis, one of our team members, Mark Sanchez, was involved in an incident that, to be honest, we’re all trying to wrap our heads around,” Menefee said, via Awful Announcing . “At this time, our thoughts and prayers are with Mark, his family, and all those involved.”

Sanchez, 38, is facing misdemeanor charges of battery with injury, unlawful entry of a motor vehicle and public intoxication, according to police. He was in the hospital in stable condition following injuries suffered in the stabbing. Brady Quinn is filling in for Sanchez in the booth alongside Chris Myers for Sunday’s Week 5 game between the Indianapolis Colts and the Las Vegas Raiders.
FOX59 ’s Angela Ganote reported Sanchez was not cooperative with police when they first got to the scene near Senate Ave. and W. Washington St. in downtown Indianapolis. Ganote added another man, who was listed as the victim in the police report, told officers he was delivering food when Sanchez told him he needed to move and could not park where he was.
The man then said Sanchez began threatening and followed him before attacking him, Ganote reported. After the man used pepper spray, he said he defended himself with a knife, and police said the man had a “significant injury to his face,” according to Ganote.
