The New Orleans Saints have made a strategic move to bolster their wide receiver corps by signing Jontre Kirklin. The signing comes after the team held tryouts for several players, including running back Amare Jones (Tulane) and wide receiver Derrick Dillion(LSU) , who were not ultimately signed.

Kirklin brings an impressive record from his recent stint in the XFL with the Houston Roughnecks, where he showcased his skills in four games, amassing 225 receiving yards and scoring four touchdowns, averaging an impressive 16.9 yards per reception. Unfortunately, his promising season was cut short by a chest injury.
Prior to his time in the XFL, Kirklin entered the NFL draft but went undrafted in 2022 after playing college football for LSU. He later earned a spot with the Arizona Cardinals as an undrafted free agent and displayed his potential by scoring two touchdowns during the preseason.
Despite his early success, he was released from the Cardinals in September 2022. Now, Kirklin has another opportunity to prove himself in the NFL as he joins the New Orleans Saints. The team hopes his speed, talent, and prior experience will provide a valuable addition to their receiving corps and contribute to their success in the upcoming season.
