George Kittle injury update: 49ers TE carted off field vs. Eagles

San Francisco 49ers tight end George Kittle was carted off the field after suffering an injury during the game against the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday. The injury happened after Kittle caught a pass late in the first half.

After Kittle was carted off, Dianna Russini of The Athletic reported that 49ers owner Jed York and Kittleโ€™s wife, Claire, walked into the team locker room, and both appeared โ€œvisibly somber.โ€ The 49ers then announced that Kittle has been ruled out with an Achilles injury.

This likely means that Kittle will be out for the rest of the postseason and potentially the start of the 2026 season if itโ€™s an Achilles tear. The 32-year-old is no stranger to injuries this season, as he was placed on injured reserve in September with a hamstring injury. Kittle played in 11 regular-season games and caught 57 passes for 628 yards and seven touchdowns. His production led to the NFL naming him to the Pro Bowl for the seventh time in his career.
