George Pickens is one training camp practice into his tenure with the Dallas Cowboys. He wasted no time taking a shot at his former club — the Pittsburgh Steelers — while speaking to the media Tuesday.
Asked about being used as a more complete receiver as opposed to just the downfield threat he was in Pittsburgh, Pickens said, “Yeah, I’m definitely excited to run better plays, for sure.” Pickens added he felt he needed a “fresh start” after three seasons in Dallas. Entering a contract year playing alongside an All-Pro wideout in CeeDee Lamb , Pickens sees an opportunity to show off his full set of skills — more so than he did in Pittsburgh.
Dallas acquired Pickens and a 2026 sixth-round pick from Pittsburgh in exchange for a 2026 third-round pick and a 2027 fifth-round pick. Pickens appeared in 14 games last season as he missed some time with an injury.
