The Giants are in a bit of turmoil heading into Week 11. They just fired their head coach in Brian Daboll , and star rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart is currently in concussion protocol.

With his status for Sunday’s home game against the Packers in doubt, interim head coach Mike Kafka is expected to start Jameis Winston at quarterback against Green Bay, per ESPN’s Adam Schefter and Jordan Raanan. He gets the nod over fellow veteran Russell Wilson .

Winston has been a model backup quarterback in 2025, and now he’ll seemingly get a chance to start at home inside MetLife Stadium. Perhaps he can rejuvenate the Giants and lead the team to a win against a reeling Packers team. Stranger things have happened.

Meanwhile, New York falling to 2-8 in Week 10 was the end of Daboll in New York, as his tenure with the Giants came to a close with an overall record of 20-40-1 (.336). That’s the fifth-worst win percentage all-time for a coach of the franchise and the worst of the anyone with as many games as he had on their sideline, since he made his head coaching debut in 2022.

That was his only winning campaign as New York was 9-7-1 (.559) with a seven-point win in the NFC Wild Card over the Minnesota Vikings before losing by 31 to the Philadelphia Eagles in the NFC Divisional. In his other two and a half seasons since combined, the Giants, being among the league’s worst on both sides of the ball during that span, have been 11-33 (.250).
