In a compelling road victory, Tulane emerged victorious over Memphis with a 31-21 score line. The turning point came when the Green Wave, trailing 21-17, saw Brown pull off a spectacular play, catching a pass from Michael Pratt for a 29-yard gain on a critical third-and-12. Immediately following that, Brown found the end zone, swinging momentum in Tulane’s favor.
The nail in the coffin for Memphis came after Kam Pedescleaux intercepted a pass from Memphis’ Seth Henigan, setting up Pratt’s 11-yard touchdown pass to Lawrence Keys III, further solidifying Tulane’s position.
However, the game wasn’t without its highlights for Memphis. After falling behind 10-0 due to Makhi Hughes‘ early touchdown and Valentino Ambrosio‘s field goal for Tulane, Henigan rallied his team with three consecutive touchdown passes.
This streak included connections with Demeer Blankumsee and Joseph Scales, taking the Tigers to a 14-10 halftime lead. The momentum persisted into the third quarter as Memphis lengthened their lead with a touchdown pass to Koby Drake. Nonetheless, Tulane’s resilience shone through, with Michael Pratt orchestrating a comeback, culminating in his 1-yard TD run. By the numbers, Pratt finished with 259 passing yards, while Hughes provided a robust ground game with 130 rushing yards.
Meanwhile, Henigan’s 321 passing yards and two interceptions painted a mixed performance for Memphis, although Blankumsee and Roc Taylor‘s identical 108 receiving yards showcased their receiving abilities.
