Copied!
The Seahawks gathered at Lumen Field to celebrate on Wednesday, a few days after winning Super Bowl LX over the Patriots.
Prior to a raucous parade through downtown Seattle, fans packed the stadium as they did every home game this season, regaled by Seahawks executives, coaches and players with recollections of the team’s magnificent accomplishment.
John Schneider spoke first, pointing to the many “angels” looking on from above during the 2025 campaign, including his father and former team owner Paul Allen. The general manager, who has now built two Super Bowl champs in Seattle from scratch, also started up MVP chants for the Super Bowl LX Most Valuable Player, Kenneth Walker III.
“He tried negotiating with me five minutes ago — it was really weird,” Schneider joked, regarding Walker’s impeding free agency.
Head coach Mike Macdonald reiterated his season-long mantra of “12 as one,” while Jaxon Smith-Njigba kept it short and sweet by reminding everyone the Seahawks are now the best in the world, and Cooper Kupp got in a thinly veiled shot at the New England area by quoting Good Will Hunting ‘s “How about them apples?”
Quarterback Sam Darnold, now a Super Bowl champion with his fifth NFL team, thanked those who always kept the faith in him.
“A lot of people, you know, didn’t believe in me, but it didn’t matter because the ones that are close believed in me, including y’all,” Darnold said. “I appreciate y’all so much. That short list also includes Jody Allen, John Schneider, Mike Macdonald. I appreciate the belief y’all had in me for signing me last this past year. And last, but certainly not least, these players, man, are believing in me. You know, I wouldn’t be here without these guys.”

Among those who believed in him most: Ernest Jones.
The linebacker has been an ardent supporter of Darnold all season, and he again made his feelings known to any remaining detractors regarding his QB — or any part of the Seahawks organization, for that matter.
“Not only do we have the best defense in the world, we got the best team in the world,” Jones said, “and quite frankly, if you got anything to say for my quarterback, you got anything to say for my defense, you got anything to say about our O-line, and you got anything to say about the city of Seattle; I got two words for you: F— you! Yeah! We here to stay.”
His fellow member of the Dark Side defense, Leonard Williams, summed up the prevailing sentiment best when he took to the mic: “We not done. We coming back next year. Yeah! I’m not f—— leaving!”
It is fitting the Seahawks captured their second Lombardi Trophy 12 years after their first, and they drank in the moment in the only way possible — surrounded by a sea of 12s.
