The highly anticipated showdown between the New Orleans Saints and the Green Bay Packers is set to kick off, and the inactives for both teams have been officially announced. Let’s take a closer look at who will be sitting out for each team and who may need to step up in their absence.
New Orleans Saints Inactives:
Cornerback Paulson Adebo: Adebo has been a key contributor in the Saints’ secondary, and his absence will be felt in coverage against the potent Green Bay passing attack. Look for other cornerbacks to step up to fill this gap.
Tight end Foster Moreau: Moreau’s absence could impact the Saints’ passing game and blocking schemes.
Receiver A.T. Perry: Perry has shown promise as a young receiver.
Guard Nick Saldivieri: Saldivieri is a rookie offensive lineman used mostly for depth.
Defensive end Kyle Phillips: Phillips is a reserve defensive lineman added to depth.
Green Bay Packers Inactives:
Receiver Christian Watson: Watson’s speed and playmaking ability will be missed in the Packers’ receiving corps. Other receivers will need to step up to fill the void.
Cornerback Jaire Alexander: Alexander is one of the league’s premier cornerbacks, and his absence will be a significant blow to the Packers’ secondary. Green Bay will rely on their remaining defensive backs to step up.
Running back Aaron Jones: Jones is a versatile back who can impact both the running and passing game. His absence will put more pressure on the Packers’ other running backs to perform.
Safety Anthony Johnson Jr.: Johnson’s absence may weaken the Packers’ secondary. The remaining safeties will need to step up to provide adequate coverage.
Safety Zayne Anderson: Another safety down for the Packers, Anderson’s inactivity could impact their defensive schemes. Depth in the secondary will be tested.
Tackle David Bakhtiari: Bakhtiari is a cornerstone of the Packers’ offensive line. His absence may affect the team’s pass protection and run blocking.
Guard Elgton Jenkins: Jenkins’ inactivity further weakens the Packers’ offensive line. Protecting their quarterback will be a priority for the remaining linemen.
In addition to these inactives, the Saints have made moves to bolster their roster by elevating safety Johnathan Abram and defensive back Cameron Dantzler from the practice squad to the active roster. These roster changes could provide some much-needed depth and flexibility for the Saints, especially in the secondary.
