NFL.com provides highlights and buzz below from Monday’s training camps across the league.
Parsons present at Cowboys camp
Despite requesting a trade with a lengthy explanation posted to social media, Micah Parsons is at Cowboys camp — as a spectator.
Parsons watched Monday’s session in sweatpants, a hooded jacket and because coach Brian Schottenheimer is asking for uniformity, his practice jersey pulled over the jacket. While Parsons has not relented from his request, Schottenheimer has not adjusted his expectations, telling reporters his defensive staff is not making any personnel or game plan changes with Parsons sitting out.
“I expect Micah to be here,” Schottenheimer said, via the Fort Worth Star Telegram.

Drake London vs. Raheem Morris
NFL head coaches evidently aren’t immune from the physicality of an August training camp practice.
Falcons head coach Raheem Morris lined up opposite wide receiver Drake London during one-on-one drills on Monday, and London took advantage of his opportunity to go toe-to-toe with his HC.

Moody the 49ers’ Week 1 kicker?
After a disappointing sophomore campaign, former third-round pick Jake Moody entered his third season with the expectation he’d have to earn his job.
That competition ended prematurely on Monday. San Francisco released veteran kicker Greg Joseph because they needed to use the roster spot elsewhere, head coach Kyle Shanahan told reporters.
“I would have loved to keep him longer and allowed them to play that out longer but we had 13 guys out of practice today, we’ve got five guys on PUP,” Shanahan explained, via ESPN.com. “It’s just too many people to have that luxury. It’s awesome to have two kickers and have them battle but they’re not really guys to take reps. We need more people to take reps for us.”
Moody converted just 70.6 percent of field goal attempts last season, prompting the 49ers to challenge the Michigan product by welcoming in a well-traveled veteran in Joseph, who is no stranger to training camp kicking battles. Moody appears to be in line to retain his roster spot after Monday’s roster move, although it’s not guaranteed at this point.
“(Joseph is) not here but whether you have one kicker in the building or two, kickers always know they are competing with whoever is out there so I don’t see it much different,” Shanahan said.
