Former Alabama and Texas wide receiver Isaiah Bond officially has a home in the NFL. On Monday, he signed with the Cleveland Browns to begin his next chapter in his football journey.
“The Browns have signed rookie WR Isaiah Bond to a three-year, $3.018 million fully guaranteed contract, as @MaryKayCabot reported,” NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero posted on X. “Bond went undrafted after being accused of sexual assault in April. A grand jury no-billed the case last week, and now Bond is in Cleveland.”
As Pelissero alluded to, the signing comes after the wide receiver was no-billed in the sexual assault case against him last week. Bond will face no further charges, which gave him the opportunity to sign with an NFL team.
Shortly after the legal news broke, Bond announced his intention to sign with the Browns. Now, pen has been put to paper.
“First and foremost, I want to express my deepest gratitude to the Cleveland Browns for believing in me and allowing me the opportunity to continue my career in the NFL,” Bond said in a statement. “Football has been my passion since I was six years old, and playing at this level is a blessing I will never take for granted. I understand that playing in the NFL is a privilege, and I’m thankful every day to love my childhood dream.
