Jalen Ramsey calls out Steelers fans chanting for Mike Tomlin firing

Seventeen days have passed since Pittsburgh Steelers fans inside Acrisure Stadium chanted “Fire Tomlin.” At the time, the Steelers were minutes away from falling to the Buffalo Bills for their fifth loss out of seven.

Pittsburgh fans were frustrated and clearly felt as if a change was needed at the top. Steelers cornerback Jalen Ramsey found the chants to fire Mike Tomlin to be “bullsh*t.”

“Me, personally, I thought the chants were bullsh*t,” Ramsey said Saturday, via Brooke Pryor of ESPN. “That’s comical in my mind. That’s all I’ll say about that.”

While team legends such as Ben Roethlisberger and James Harrison suggested it may be time for Tomlin to get a fresh start elsewhere, current players, such as Ramsey, stood behind their head coach. And in the aftermath of the chants, the Steelers have responded in a big way.

In Week 14, they defeated the Baltimore Ravens to stay atop first place in the AFC North. Monday, they defeated the Miami Dolphins, 28-15. Pittsburgh is 8-6, holding a one-game lead over Baltimore with three games remaining in the regular season.
