The game was marked by wild momentum swings, especially in the second half. Both teams combined for a staggering 46 first downs, 1,061 yards of total offense, and accumulated 22 penalties for 145 yards. LSU’s defense stepped up when it mattered most, as safety Major Burns intercepted Cook and returned it for a game-sealing score.
