Jayden Daniels isn’t practicing for the third day in a row. Per Washington Commanders reporter Ben Standig, their star quarterback isn’t trending in the right direction while nursing a knee injury.
That has Daniels’ status for Sunday against the Las Vegas Raiders in major doubt. Adam Schefter echoed that sentiment during an appearance on NFL Live on Thursday.
“The tone the Commanders are using suggests that Jayden Daniels, right now, might have a tough time being out there on Sunday,” Schefter said. “They said the soonest he would practice would be Friday. I don’t think it would be a surprise if Dan Quinn ruled out Jayden Daniels on Friday, and if Daniels can’t go, then Marcus Mariota would start Sunday against the Raiders.”
It was previously noted that Daniels would miss practice until at least Friday, but him not practicing this afternoon isn’t a good sign. According to Schefter, a final injury designation will be made before the weekend is through. That means today’s practice might be the deciding factor in his final status for Sunday against Las Vegas, and it doesn’t look promising.
