Jayden Daniels, dealing with a hamstring injury, was reported as out on Wednesday for the Commanders’ matchup in Kansas City for Week 8 on Monday Night Football. ESPN’s Adam Schefter has now added further to his status.
Schefter shared the latest on Daniels while on ‘Get Up’ on Thursday morning. He thinks, based on the current timeline of Lamar Jackson, who has been out since Week 5 and is still uncertain to play in Week 8 with a hamstring injury himself, that Daniels could potentially miss more than just this one game here for the Commanders.
“Not going to play on Monday night. It’s going to be Marcus Mariota in Kansas City, which…(can go) better than people think. Marcus Mariota steps in, but Jayden Daniels has that hamstring injury,” Schefter said. “And, look what Lamar Jackson just missed. He missed two games, the bye and we still don’t know whether he’s back three weeks later. Jayden Daniels might be, might be, on a similar timeline, which could derail Washington’s season.”
Daniels exited the 44-22 loss to the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday afternoon with this hamstring injury. The MRI results on it showed he avoided anything “significant or long-term,” according to Dan Quinn on Monday, but he was then reported as out for their next game as of Wednesday.
