Jaylen Brown ties longstanding Larry Bird record with Celtics

The Boston Celtics dropped a tough 114-108 decision to the Portland Trail Blazers on Sunday, but you can not blame Jaylen Brown for that result. Brown finished with 37 points and recorded his ninth consecutive 30-point game. That is a significant number and streak, because it ties a longstanding Celtics record that had previously been owned by Hall of Famer Larry Bird. He will have a chance to take over sole possession of that record on Tuesday when they visit the Utah Jazz.  With Jayson Tatum out for most — and perhaps all — of the season, the Celtics have had to lean on Brown to carry the bulk of their offense this season and he has been everything they could have hoped for him to be.
