Jermall Charlo Eyes Return on Tank Davis Undercard, Demetrius Andrade Rumored as Opponent

by Oscar Cabrera, Boxing Contributor

Jermall Charlo sent shockwaves through the boxing world with his social media announcement that he’ll be returning to the ring on December 14th, fighting on the undercard of the highly anticipated Gervonta “Tank” Davis vs. Lamont Roach Jr. showdown at the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas. While Premier Boxing Champions (PBC) has yet to confirm the news, Charlo’s declaration has generated excitement as fans eagerly anticipate his return after a 13-month layoff.

Charlo’s last bout came in November 2023, where he secured a unanimous decision victory over Jose Benavidez Jr., but the long stretches of inactivity have left some fans uncertain about what to expect from the undefeated super middleweight (33-0, 22 KOs).

Adding to the intrigue, rumors are swirling that Charlo could face former two-division world champion Demetrius “Boo Boo” Andrade (32-1, 19 KOs) on the same card. Andrade, who last fought in November 2023, suffered a tough TKO loss to David Benavidez. However, if Andrade has recovered fully from that defeat, he could pose a significant challenge to the ring-rusty Charlo.

With both fighters looking to bounce back and make statements, this potential clash would be a thrilling addition to the Gervonta Davis undercard. Fans are eagerly awaiting PBC’s official confirmation, which could make December 14th one of the most action-packed nights of the year for boxing.
