Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones is not concerned with getting a contract extension done with wide receiver George Pickens right now. During his appearance on 105.3 The Fan on Tuesday, Jones gave an update on Pickens’ future with the team since he’s in the final year of his rookie contract.
“Listen, there’s nothing that we can do – I know it’s fun – there’s nothing we can gain from speculating and conjecture,” Jerry Jones said, per Todd Archer of ESPN. “The bottom line is we’re in good shape.”
Before Jones made those comments, he said that he doesn’t see George Pickens anywhere else but the Cowboys in 2026. “At this time we’ve got two No. 1 receivers, and that’s just exceptional right at the time when – guess what – our quarterback is probably the best he’s ever been and there’s more there,” Jones stated.
Pickens played his first three seasons with the Pittsburgh Steelers and was traded to the Cowboys in May. Through 11 games this season, Pickens has caught 67 passes for 1,054 yards and eight touchdowns. This is the second time in his young career that he has recorded at least 1,000 receiving yards.
