Jerry Jones: Talk of Micah Parsons trade is ‘BS’ unless it comes from me

Jerry Jones laid it out in plain English regarding a potential Micah Parsons trade on Friday. During an interview with Stephen A. Smith on the ESPN analyst’s YouTube channel, he called BS on any rumors surrounding the Cowboys star defender.

“As you well know, an existing player on a team — if somebody is talking to him or his — that is a tremendous violation. You can get a lot of draft picks if somebody should happen to be talking about that. Other than I, other than me, other than an assignee of mine — any talk of trading is BS. There’s nothing to it. It’s just nothing to it,” Jones told Smith.

“Because everybody knows you’re not gonna play for three years. Everybody knows that that’s not gonna happen. And everybody knows that Micah is a key ingredient for it. A key ingredient. Does this sound familiar to you? How about Emmitt Smith ?”

Those are poignant words from Jones, especially alluding to his former running back. It’s evident he has no plans of trading Parsons away, even if that’s what the defensive star would like.

Alas, it’d be prudent for Jerry Jones and the Cowboys to get a deal done with Micah Parsons before Week 1, and lock in their star player for many years to come. Time will tell if it comes to fruition, but it seems like it’s Dallas or nowhere for the star pass-rusher.

Meanwhile, ESPN’s  Dan Graziano  dished a bit on the Parsons’ contract standoff during an appearance on  Get   Up  on Friday. The Cowboys are preparing to face the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 1, and there’s still no guarantee Dallas’ star player will be on the field.
