The New York Jets have not appeared in a playoff game since the 2010 AFC Championship. They will have to wait at least one more year to snap that drought. With their 34-10 loss to the Miami Dolphins on Sunday, the Jets were officially eliminated from playoff contention, extending their playoff drought to 15 years. Not only have the Jets missed the playoffs 15 years in a row, but that drought is the longest active drought in the NFL and the longest in the four major North American men’s sports leagues. They entered the season tied with the NHL’s Buffalo Sabres at 14 years, and now sole claim on that drought.
