Jim Harbaugh breaks silence on Sherrone Moore firing at Michigan, detainment

Jim Harbaugh broke his silence on the Sherrone Moore firing at Michigan and his subsequent detainment on Friday during a press conference. The former Wolverines leader needs some time to absorb what’s happened regarding his successor in Ann Arbor.

“Still processing that, like a lot of people, I’m sure,” Harbaugh stated, per Daniel Popper of The Athletic. It’s certainly understandable for the Los Angeles Chargers head coach, who put his faith in Moore multiple times over the course of his tenure at Michigan.

Harbaugh brought Moore to Michigan in 2018 as the team’s tight ends coach. He was promoted to co-offensive coordinator and offensive line coach in 2021.

After filling in for Harbaugh during multiple suspensions throughout the 2023 season,  Moore was named Michigan’s head football coach following Harbaugh’s departure for the NFL. Then, everything hit the fan this week.

Moore was formally charged Friday following his detainment earlier this week in Washtenaw County, Michigan, according to a press release. Disturbing details surrounding the incident involving the 39-year-old have since emerged.
