Joe Burrow left the Bengals’ game against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday after suffering a toe injury in the second quarter. The Bengals announced he is questionable to return. He is undergoing an MRI, per FOX19 ‘s Jeremy Rauch.
The injury occurred when Jaguars defensive lineman Arik Armstead rolled onto Burrow’s ankle after sacking him. It was the second time Burrow had been sacked in the contest.
Before suffering the injury, Burrow completed seven passes for 76 yards and a touchdown. Burrow walked off the field with minimal help from the Bengals’ training staff. Jake Browning replaced Burrow.
The injury is far from Burrow’s first. In 2020, Burrow suffered a season-ending ACL tear. More recently, Burrow missed the final seven games of the 2023 campaign after suffering an injury to his right wrist. Last year, Burrow revealed the impact the injuries had on his mindset.
