Jonathan Mingo injury update: Awful news emerges on Cowboys WR ahead of 2025 season

by: Chandler Vessels 40 minutes ago ChandlerVessels

Dallas Cowboys receiver Jonathan Mingo is expected to miss the start of the regular season due to a PCL injury, per NFL insider Jordan Schultz. Mingo suffered the injury Saturday in a preseason contest against the Baltimore Ravens.

Schultz reported that Mingo is expected to miss at least a month. That would set his earliest possible return date for a Week 3 matchup against the Chicago Bears on Sept. 21.

Mingo is getting ready to enter his second season in Dallas after being traded from the Carolina Panthers midway through the 2024 season. He played in eight games for the Cowboys and finished with five catches for 46 yards.

Mingo suffered the injury while making a 49-yard catch against the Ravens, which also happened to be the biggest gain for the offense this preseason. That was his only catch of the preseason.

โ€œI caught the ball and landed,โ€ Mingo said per the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. โ€œI didnโ€™t feel it until I got to the line of scrimmage, really. Your body got adrenaline and stuff. You donโ€™t really know whatโ€™s going on.โ€

So far, Mingoโ€™s best season came as a rookie with the Panthers in 2023. The second-round pick out of Ole Miss recorded 43 catches for 418 yards.

Surprisingly, Jonathan Mingo has still yet to score his first touchdown in the NFL. Heโ€™ll hope to break that milestone this year once he gets healthy.
