New York Jets’ QB Justin Fields was placed into concussion protocol Monday, per ESPN’s Adam Schefter. This comes after he exited the loss to the Buffalo Bills in the fourth quarter Sunday.

Upon his exit, Fields was three-of-11 passing for 27 yards. He also had five carries for 49 yards, but no scores. Fields led the Jets in rushing at that point of the day. The Jets lost to the Bills 30-10 to drop to 0-2 on the season.

It was a stark contrast for Fields and the Jets’ offense after an opening day 34-32 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers. He was 16-of-22 for 218 yards, one touchdown, 48 rushing yards and two rushing touchdowns just last week.

Coming into the game, Jets head coach Aaron Glenn noted the challenge of playing the Bills. Buffalo is on the shortlist of Super Bowl LX favorites this season. With the way Fields and the offense played Sunday against Buffalo, that was certainly a wise premonition.
