Los Angeles Chargers head coach Jim Harbaugh gave an update on quarterback Justin Herbert , who suffered an injury on Sunday.Harbaugh said that Herbert has a break in his left hand and will have surgery on Monday. The Chargers coach also said he wasn’t sure if Herbert would miss any time.
Justin Herbert suffered the injury in the first quarter of Sunday’s game against the Las Vegas Raiders. Trey Lance replaced him, but Herbert returned to the game early in the second quarter. The former Oregon star completed 15-of-20 passes for 151 yards, two touchdowns and one interception in the Chargers’ 31-14 victory.
Chargers fans are hoping that Herbert doesn’t any time because the team is fighting for a playoff spot. Los Angeles is in a good spot with an 8-4 record, but would love to keep winning and potentially catch the Denver Broncos, who lead the AFC West by a game and a half.

Herbert has put together a solid 2025 season, throwing for 2,842 yards and 21 touchdowns through 12 games. During the offseason, Herbert spoke to reporters about being in his second season with offensive coordinator Greg Roman .
