The Sacramento Kings have given up 276 points in their last two games. Despite the porous defense and the chanting of the home crowd, defensive-minded guard Keon Ellis still can’t get meaningful playing time. Ellis is a 6-foot-6 guard in his fourth season in Sacramento. He was undrafted out of Alabama, but played his way into a key role in the Kings rotation by his second season. He’s a 42.9 percent three-point shooter for his career who averaged 1.5 steals and 0.8 blocks in 24.4 minutes per game last season. And he’s only playing in garbage time as the team’s defense has collapsed. Based on advanced stats, Ellis is one of the most valuable defensive players on the Kings.
