An arrest has been made in connection with the shooting of New York Jets cornerback Kris Boyd . The NYPD and U.S. Marshals apprehended a person of interest in Buffalo on Monday, TMZ Sports reported.
Law enforcement sources told TMZ that a 20-year-old man was taken into custody. He’s currently being transported back to New York City to face charges. However, they noted that the specific charges have not yet been disclosed.
The development comes a few weeks after Boyd, 29, was shot in the abdomen during an early-morning incident in Midtown Manhattan. According to ABC News, Boyd told detectives he and several friends were involved in a confrontation outside a restaurant. It escalated into gunfire.
Responding officers found Boyd seriously wounded, and he was rushed to Bellevue Hospital. That’s where he remained hospitalized in critical but stable condition.
“I’m thinking about his wife, I’m thinking about his kid. That’s the only thing that really went through my mind.”
