Kyler Murray injury update: Cardinals make final decision on QB vs. Cowboys, per report

Arizona Cardinals (2-5) quarterback Kyler Murray is not expected to play in Monday’s Week 9 road contest against the Dallas Cowboys (3-4-1). Head coach Jonathan Gannon previously said the team would wait until closer to game time to determine if Murray would have a role versus Dallas, but that is not the plan, according to Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.

Gannon had already announced that Jacoby Brissett would get his third consecutive start as Murray continues to make his way back from a foot sprain. The Cardinals have dropped back-to-back games with Brissett under center. Brissett has played well, however, throwing for 599 yards, four touchdowns and one interception on 64.2% passing.

Murray, meanwhile, has 962 passing yards, six touchdowns, three interceptions and a 68.3% completion percentage. The 32-year-old Brissett has averaged 7.5 yards per passing attempt; Murray is sitting at 6.0. Gannon had nothing but praise for Brissett earlier this week.
