The Arizona Cardinals placed QB Kyler Murray on injured reserve because of his mid-foot sprain, per Ian Rapoport. Veteran Jacoby Brissett was recently named the starter moving forward.
There could be a quarterback controversy brewing, at least in Troy Aikman’s eyes. The long time color commentator and Hall of Fame QB discussed the possibility of Brissett starting over Murray the rest of the way, regardless of injury status.
“I don’t think they will [put Murray back as starting quarterback],” Aikman said Monday night on ESPN as the Cardinals beat the Cowboys. “I don’t think you can, quite honestly, because it wasn’t like they were playing good offensively while Kyler Murray was playing. The best football’s been the last three games. This win, this is big. And I don’t know how you then send Jacoby Brissett to the bench.”
