Lamar Jackson injury update: Ravens QB's Friday practice status revealed

by: Daniel Hager 13 minutes ago DanielHagerOn3

Baltimore Ravens quarterback  Lamar Jackson , who missed last Sunday’s game against the Houston Texans with a hamstring injury, did not practice again on Friday. He will likely miss his second consecutive game this weekend against the Los Angeles Rams.

Following Sunday’s game against Los Angeles, the Ravens will enjoy a much-needed bye week. This means that Jackson should 100% be back in time for Baltimore’s Week 8 matchup against the Chicago Bears.

Once again, no Lamar Jackson at today’s practice, putting Cooper Rush in line to start Sunday vs. the Rams.

Jackson suffered the injury in Baltimore’s blowout 37-20 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 4. Through four games this season, the two-time Most Valuable Player has passed for 869 yards, 10 touchdowns and just one interception. On the ground, Jackson has rushed for another 166 yards.

“No  Lamar Jackson  yesterday,”  ESPN  insider  Adam Schefter  said on Thursday morning’s ‘ Get Up ‘. “It is tracking for him not to play again on Sunday. Let’s keep in mind that the Ravens have a bye week after this upcoming game against the Rams. So, if  Lamar Jackson doesn’t play Sunday and right now it doesn’t seem like he will, he would get two weeks to rest up that hamstring injury and then make a push in the second half of the season.”

Baltimore has opened season with dreadful 1-4 record

Baltimore, lauded as one of the preseason Super Bowl favorites, has opened the season with a dreadful 1-4 record. That includes two close losses to Buffalo and Detroit when Jackson was healthy, and a blowout loss to Kansas City in a game in which Jackson was banged up. It suffered a 44-10 loss to the Houston Texans last week in a game in which Jackson was not active.
