Leader could be emerging in Saints QB race

For the first time this training camp, the New Orleans Saints had the same first-string quarterback in back-to-back sessions. Could a leader be emerging in the clubhouse? If so, second-year pro Spencer Rattler appears to be trending toward being named the Week 1 starter. NewOrleans.Football Saints reporter Nick Underhill shared that Rattler was taking reps with the first-team offense for the second consecutive practice, which Underhill noted was the first time a quarterback has taken the role two practices in a row. Rattler is competing with 2025 second-round pick Tyler Shough and 2023 fourth-rounder Jake Haener. Last season, Rattler, a 2024 fifth-round selection, appeared in seven games and finished the year 130-of-228 (57 percent) for 1,317 yards (5.8 yards per attempt), four touchdowns and five interceptions.
