Robert Griffin III has revealed that, earlier this morning, he and his family were involved in a serious car accident. Thankfully, though, they were all safe in the end.
Griffin posted the news and following images on social media this afternoon after what happened on an interstate in Fort Worth. Their vehicle hit the divider and ended up blowing out both of its front tires but, afterward, Griffin and his family, with his wife and children in the car, were alright.
Just got in the worst car accident of our lives with my wife and kids in Fort Worth, Texas. Scary crash, ricocheted off the highway divider multiple times, blown both front tires. Thankful to God that my wife and kids are safe. pic.twitter.com/X5QNHX4oxY

โJust got in the worst car accident of our lives with my wife and kids in Fort Worth, Texas,โ Griffin III posted online in the aftermath. โScary crash, ricocheted off the highway divider multiple times, blown both front tires. Thankful to God that my wife and kids are safe.โ
The Griffins are a family of five. Griffin III is married to his wife, Grete, and they have three daughters, all of which who are under the age of ten, in Gloria, Gameya, and Gia.
Griffin III is currently back in the broadcast booth now working for FOX Sports since his hiring at the end of August. He was in Fort Worth in preparation for kickoff tomorrow night for Colorado vs. TCU in the Big 12, alongside Connor Onion. That assignment being so close to home in Texas allowed his family to travel with him for the weekend, with them all riding along in the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter.
With that, Griffin III has become a unique voice in sports media, recently leading to some backlash, in his coverage of mainly football, both collegiate and professional, among other topics on the air or on โOutta Pocket with RGIIIโ, a podcast he hosts with his wife. Thatโs obviously following his background as a college player at Baylor , winning the Heisman Trophy and being an All-American in 2011, and being a nine-year veteran in the NFL, with stops in Washington, Cleveland, and Baltimore, after being the second overall pick in the 2012 NFL Draft.
No further updates are known from the accident this morning. However, the best news is that there were minimal to no injuries.
