Louisiana lawmakers send bill to keep exonerated Black man from becoming clerk to governor

The Louisiana Senate April 29 gave final approval to a bill to keep Calvin Duncan, a Black man who was wrongfully incarcerated for decades, from taking elected office as New Orleans’ clerk of criminal court. It now only needs Gov. Jeff Landry’s signature to become law.Read More
