LSU continues to strengthen its football coaching staff by adding another key piece from the University of Missouri. According to ESPN’s Pete Thamel, LSU has acquired the services of a well-respected defensive coach Kevin Peoples from Missouri, further bolstering their defensive coaching lineup. This latest acquisition follows the recent addition of former Missouri defensive coordinator Blake Baker, who transitioned to the same role at LSU earlier this week.

Kevin Peoples, whose expertise lies in coaching edge rushers, is expected to make a significant impact at LSU. Having spent two seasons with Missouri’s defensive coaching staff, he played a pivotal role in transforming the Tigers into an 11-game winning team in 2023. His arrival at LSU is seen as a strategic move to enhance the team’s defensive abilities, particularly in handling edge rushers.
This latest recruitment is part of LSU’s broader strategy to revamp its coaching staff, which has already seen notable additions such as Blake Baker and Bo Davis, the latter joining from Texas to coach interior defensive linemen. The LSU football program, under this renewed leadership, is poised to make a strong statement in the upcoming season, leveraging the expertise and experience of its newly assembled coaching team.
