LSU Early Signing Day Update: Tigers Land Elite Talent

By Milton Manningham, LSU Football Contributor

The LSU Tigers have solidified one of the top recruiting classes in the nation on Early Signing Day, with Head Coach Brian Kelly and his staff reeling in a combination of top-tier national prospects and key in-state stars. With a class ranked sixth nationally by 247Sports Composite, LSU has successfully addressed key areas of need, adding depth and skill at multiple positions.

Headlining the class are Harlem Berry, the nation’s No. 1 running back, and DJ Pickett, the No. 1 cornerback in America. Both players bring elite athleticism and high ceilings, setting the foundation for a dominant future in Baton Rouge.

Berry, a speedster out of New Orleans, boasts a rare combination of power and breakaway speed, while Pickett, a 6-4 lockdown corner, possesses the length and instincts LSU fans have come to expect in a top-tier secondary recruit. Joining them is Solomon Thomas, a five-star offensive tackle whose size and technique make him a potential day-one starter for the Tigers.

On the defensive line, LSU made significant strides, adding Zion Williams and Brandon Brown, two interior linemen with the strength and agility to anchor the Tigers’ trenches for years to come.

The Tigers also secured several elite in-state prospects, including JD LaFleur, the top tight end in Louisiana, and Jacob Bradford, the No. 2 safety in the state. LSU’s ability to dominate the local recruiting landscape was further showcased with commitments from Aidan Anding, the state’s top cornerback, and Charles Ross, the No. 2 linebacker in America. These signings reflect a strong emphasis on keeping Louisiana’s best talent close to home while maintaining national recruiting ties.

Notable flips and late additions also marked this year’s class. While LSU lost tight end Mike Tyler to South Carolina, the Tigers landed Walter Mathis, a highly coveted defensive tackle out of Georgia. Another key addition was Tyler Miller, the top offensive lineman in Mississippi, whose physicality and motor impressed LSU’s coaching staff. On the offensive side, TaRon Francis, nicknamed “ManChild,” brings speed and size as the No. 2 wide receiver in Louisiana.

Below is a table of LSU’s standout signees, showcasing the exceptional talent added to this year’s class:
