The LSU Tigers are making a strong statement ahead of the upcoming college football season with an impressive 11 players earning spots on the preseason All-SEC team. As announced by the league office on Friday, these players were selected through a vote by members of the media attending SEC Media Days. Leading the charge is LSU’s star quarterback Jayden Daniels, whose exceptional performance last season led the Tigers to a remarkable 10-4 record and the coveted SEC Western Division title in his very first year with the team.
Joining Daniels on the first-team offense are two other standouts, junior wide receiver Malik Nabers, and sophomore offensive tackle Will Campbell, adding their formidable skills to the roster. Additionally, tight end Mason Taylor secured a spot on the second-team, while offensive tackle Emery Jones earned recognition on the third-team. On the defensive front, LSU boasts a formidable trio of first-team selections, spearheaded by sophomore linebacker Harold Perkins, whose remarkable abilities have caught the attention of media and fans alike. Joining Perkins are defensive linemen Mekhi Wingo and Maason Smith, forming an intimidating defensive lineup. Defensive back Major Burns secured his place on the third-team, showcasing the Tigers’ well-rounded and impressive roster. Special teams also saw recognition, with long snapper Slade Roy and kickoff specialist Nathan Dibert both earning second-team selections, contributing to LSU’s all-around strength and depth as they prepare to take on the challenges of the new season.
