Former Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Henry Ruggs has graduated from the University of Alabama. NFL insider Jordan Schultz posted photos of the school’s commencement list, having Ruggs listed in there. Some good grades came Ruggs’ way during his final semester as well.

“Former NFL WR Henry Ruggs has graduated from the University of Alabama, completing his degree after being named to the President’s List with a 4.0 GPA during his final semester,” Schultz said via X.

Ruggs left Alabama after the 2019 football season, declaring for the 2020 NFL Draft. He was taken in the first round by the Las Vegas Raiders after putting up incredible numbers in Tuscaloosa. Part of a monster receiver room, Ruggs recorded 1,716 yards and 24 touchdowns on just 98 receptions over a three-year period. Nearly a quarter of his catches turned into scores for the Crimson Tide.

Unfortunately, Ruggs saw his life change in 2021 due to a fatal car crash in which he was under the influence of alcohol. Ruggs was sentenced with three to 10 years in prison after killing 23-year-old  Tina Tintor  and her dog. This came after he pleaded guilty to one count of DUI resulting in death and one count of misdemeanor vehicular manslaughter.

Originally, Ruggs was accused of driving 156 miles per hour through a suburban area, miles away from the Las Vegas strip. His speedometer read 127 mph when airbags deployed. In addition, Ruggs’ blood alcohol level read .161, more than twice the legal limit.
