Former NFL quarterback and current FOX Sports analyst Mark Sanchez is recovering after being stabbed late Friday night in Indianapolis. According to reports, the incident occurred just after midnight, with the former first-round pick turned broadcaster among the victims.

Initially reported to be in critical condition, FOX confirmed that Sanchez is now in stable condition and on the mend. The former Jets quarterback was in town to call Sunday’s matchup between the Indianapolis Colts and Las Vegas Raiders.

“Mark Sanchez was injured in Indianapolis on Saturday and is currently recovering in the hospital in stable condition,” FOX Sports said in a statement. “We are deeply grateful to the medical team for their exceptional care and support. Our thoughts and prayers are with Mark, and we ask that everyone please respect his and his family’s privacy during this time.”

New details later emerged via ESPN’s Adam Schefter. He shared an official statement from Indianapolis police, where authorities described the stabbing as an isolated incident between two men who are not local residents.
