Following Mark Sanchez’s hospitalization and arrest following a stabbing in downtown Indianapolis, his replacement for Sunday’s Colts-Raiders broadcast has been revealed. Sanchez was in town to call Sunday’s game when the incident occurred early Saturday morning .
FOX analyst and former Notre Dame quarterback Brady Quinn will join Chris Myers in the booth, according to The Athletic’s Richard Deitsch. Quinn works for FOX as an analyst on its Big Noon Kickoff college football pregame show and has worked as an NFL analyst for the network since joining in 2014.
Quinn played seven years in the NFL following a decorated career at Notre Dame. He spent Saturday in Ann Arbor, Michigan, as Michigan hosted Big Noon Kickoff and is now in line to head down I-65 to Indianapolis for Colts vs. Raiders in Sanchez’s place.
Sanchez, 38, is facing misdemeanor charges of battery with injury, unlawful entry of a motor vehicle and public intoxication, according to police. He remains the hospital in stable condition following injuries suffered in the stabbing, and has not been booked into the Adult Detention Center as of publication.
“After further investigation and following consultation with the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office, IMPD arrested 38-year-old Mark Sanchez for his alleged role in this incident,” the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department said in a statement. “Sanchez was arrested at the hospital for battery with injury, unlawful entry of a motor vehicle and public intoxication, all of which are misdemeanors. All involved parties have been identified, and no further individuals are being sought by detectives.”
