The former Sooner only played in just one of Denver’s three preseason games. Mims hauled in just one catch for three yards in Denver’s 30-9 preseason opening win over the San Francisco 49ers. Following roster cuts, Mims is projected as one of Denver’s three starting wide receivers alongside Courtland Sutton and Troy Franklin .

Mims was a four-star recruit coming out of Lone Star (Frisco, TX) in the Class of 2020, where he was tabbed the No. 147-ranked player in the country. He committed to Oklahoma , where he’d play from 2020-22. As a Sooner, he hauled in 123 catches for 2,238 yards and 20 touchdowns. Prior to entering the 2022 NFL Draft, he was named Second Team All-Big 12 in 2020 and First Team All-Big 12 in 2022.

He was selected by the Denver Broncos with the No. 63 pick in the Second Round of the 2022 NFL Draft and has remained with the organization since. Mims has emerged as one of the best punt/kick returners in the entire National Football League, as he was named a Second Team All-Pro along with earning a Pro Bowl and a PFWA All-Rookie Team nod in 2023.
