Miami Dolphins make another major QB decision after win over Falcons

The depth chart at quarterback for the Miami Dolphins is reverting back to a previous state after some brief turmoil in recent weeks. Quinn Ewers has once again been relegated to the third-string role.

According to a report from the NFL Network’s Cameron Wolfe, Zach Wilson will “remain Dolphins QB2” behind Tua Tagovailoa for the time being. Wilson had previously lost out on the backup job to Ewers for a stretch due to practice results.

Tagovailoa was lifted from a Week 7 loss to the Cleveland Browns after he threw three interceptions. That’s when Quinn Ewers got his chance to enter.

Ewers went 5-for-8 for 53 yards in relief, failing to throw a touchdown pass or an interception. He was sacked twice.

In this week’s 34-10 win over the Atlanta Falcons, Tagovailoa was all the way back in form. He went 20-for-26 passing for 205 yards and four touchdowns. He did not throw an interception, and his team won the game going away.

That came after Quinn Ewers had briefly replaced him a week prior. Tagovailoa had made it clear he wasn’t happy with his play then.
