Micah Parsons contract dispute: Dak Prescott predicts if Cowboys star will play in Week 1

As preseason ends for the Dallas Cowboys, no end appears to be in sight when it comes to the Micah Parsons contract dispute. Questions will now be asked about his status leading into Week 1’s massive showdown against the Philadelphia Eagles. Parsons has not backed down from his trade request in early August.

Dak Prescott is confident Parsons will be out there on Sept. 4. He expressed as such when speaking to the media on Monday, believing Parsons is physically ready to play. At the same time, while some wonder if the whole saga has been a distraction, Prescott pushed back on the idea.

“Dak Prescott is confident that Micah Parsons will be on the field Week 1,” The Athletic ‘s Jon Machota said via X. “Dak thinks Micah will be ready to play. He doesn’t think it’s been a distraction for the team.”

Parsons has enjoyed a successful career against the Eagles, always two of the more important games on the schedule in Dallas. In seven games played, he has recorded 29 tackles, six tackles for a loss, eight quarterback hits, five sacks, and even a forced fumble. Pretty good against a division rival but the Cowboys want him to add on.

Until we get closer to the game, nobody will truly know where Parsons stands. For now, hearing a positive report from QB1 is something fans can hold onto.
