Amid the public contract and trade saga, Green Bay Packers linebacker Micah Parsons has been dealing with a back injury. Parsons, acquired last Thursday from the Dallas Cowboys, could require an epidural injection to help him play in Sunday’s Week 1 home contest against the Detroit Lions.

Parsons’ agent, David Mulugheta , said Tuesday they will wait till the weekend to determine if he needs the shot. Mulugheta added Parsons’ back is “doing much better.”

“His back is doing much better,” Mulugheta said. “He was prescribed some anti-inflammatory steroids or something of sort by the Cowboys, which he’s been on for almost a week now. If that doesn’t get him to a point where he can get on the field, I know Micah’s going to do everything he can to get on the football field for the Packers.

“We’ll wait and see how he feels going to this weekend and whether that shot is going to be necessary or not. What I will tell you is Micah is going to do everything he can to be on the football field, the same way he was in a Cowboys jersey.”
