Micah Parsons injury update: Packers release latest on new LB's status in Friday report

by: Alex Byington 20 hours ago _AlexByington

Newly-minted Green Bay Packers pass rusher Micah Parsons is “questionable” to play in Sunday’s season-opener against the rival Detroit Lions according to the team’s latest injury report released Friday afternoon. Parsons is still working through a back issue that plagued him throughout the preseason.

Parsons is reportedly dealing with a L4/LF5 facet joint sprain in his back, and he may receive an injection before the game against the Lions on Sunday, according to ESPN insider Adam Schefter. Before trading Parsons to the Packers last week, the Dallas Cowboys prescribed him a five-day course of prednisone, a corticosteroid to help him recover from back tightness.

Joining Parsons among the Packers’ “questionable” list include starting cornerback Nate Hobbs (knee); receivers Jayden Reed (foot), Dontayvion Wicks (calf) and Savion Williams (hamstring); and defensive lineman Barryn Sorrell (knee) after all were limited in Friday’s practice.
