Micah Parsons predicts sacking Dak Prescott for the first time is 'going to be painful'

Micah Parsons never wanted to leave the Dallas Cowboys. But after reaching an impasse on a new contract extension, team owner/general manager Jerry Jones did the seemingly unthinkable: he traded the All-Pro pass rusher to the Green Bay Packers.

This Sunday marks exactly one month since the blockbuster trade went down. Wouldn’t you know it, the Cowboys (1-2) host the Packers (2-1) on Sunday Night Football. Yes, that means Parsons will make his return to AT&T Stadium, this time, on the opposing sideline. Parsons is being paid and being paid well to sack the quarterback. He admitted Tuesday it’s going to be “painful” when the moment comes that he has to hit Dak Prescott .

“It’s going to be painful,” Parsons told The Associated Press ’ Rob Maaddi. “That’s my guy. He was always like a good mentor for me. But you know how it is, he always told me if I ever faced him that it’ll be a great matchup, so I’m excited to see what Sunday brings itself.”

On the surface, this is no ordinary game for Parsons. It’s a chance for the 26-year-old to stick it to Dallas, more specifically Jones. Parsons, however, isn’t viewing it that way.

“I accepted my fate weeks ago when the trade happened,” Parsons said. “So, for me, it’s just all about playing another game and just doing what I do best, and that’s just be a disruptive football player. I think the media and the fans are trying to blow it up to be such a big thing. But I just look at it as just another game at AT&T.”
