Jerry Jones opened a few eyes during a Monday press conference ahead of Dallas Cowboys training camp. NFL legend JJ Watt was one of them, not enjoying how Jones called out a couple of his star players’ injury history. One was Micah Parsons , who is right in the middle of a contract negotiation with the franchise.
Watt sarcastically went after Jones via social media. You can tell he is not thrilled with the Cowboys’ owner/general manager’s comments, also talking about Dak Prescott missing most of the 2024 season despite being one of the highest-paid players in football.
“Anytime you can publicly take a dig at your star quarterback and your star pass rusher simultaneously, right before the season begins, you just gotta take it,” Watt said via X. “Nothing makes guys want to fight for you more than hearing how upset you are that they got hurt while fighting for you.”
Turns out, Parsons may have the same thought as Watt. He actually retweeted Watt shortly after the original post was sent, caught by Mike Leslie of WFAA in Dallas.
