Micah Parsons trade: Jerry Jones denies any regrets, says Cowboys 'got what we wanted'

Speaking with reporters Thursday night, Jerry Jones received a question about whether he had any regrets over the Micah Parsons situation. The Dallas Cowboys traded the star linebacker to the Green Bay Packers on Thursday.

Jones expressed his excitement about what lies ahead for the Cowboys after the blockbuster trade. Dallas received two first-round picks from Green Bay, as well as defensive lineman Kenny Clark , in exchange for Parsons. The former Penn State star also landed the lucrative contract he was seeking.

Throughout the talks, things appeared to become tense between Jones and Parsons as conversations stalled. However, Jones said he doesn’t regret anything about the way things unfolded.

“Oh, no. No, not at all. Nothing at all, in terms of regret,” Jones said. “You’re asking if I regret. I don’t regret that at all. I’m very, very excited about the prospects of what we’ve done for the Cowboys here. I wouldn’t have done it. I had total control over being able to have it the other way. So I’m excited. We got what we wanted.”

Micah Parsons is set to sign a four-year deal worth $188 million, including $136 million guaranteed, according to multiple reports. He will also get $120 million at signing. Jones confirmed he made an offer to Parsons and hinted it may have had more guaranteed money than what the Packers were offering, but didn’t get into specifics.
