Micah Parsons trade request: Bizarre reason revealed for absence from Cowboys practice

Micah Parsons was not present on the practice field Thursday for the first time during training camp. While many thought it may be due to his contract negotiation, turns out, an injury is what kept Parsons away.

According to ESPN’s Todd Archer, Parsons missed practice due to back tightness. Something Parsons has been dealing with since arriving in Oxnard, treatment was needed while the Dallas Cowboys were out there getting work.

“For the first time in training camp, Micah Parsons was not on the practice field Thursday with multiple sources indicating the Pro Bowl pass rusher was dealing with back tightness,” Archer said via X. “He received treatment during practice.”

Right as practice began, Parsons was nowhere to be found. Neither was Cowboys owner/general manager Jerry Jones. Speculation began to run wild, wondering if the two were somewhere else, working on a new contract.

Reports quickly shot down the idea, including one from WFAA’s Mike Leslie. He spoke with somebody inside the front office, getting confirmation.
